A Trip to Chatsworth House

Built in the 1540s by Bess of Hardwick, Chatsworth is the hereditary seat of the Dukes of Devonshire. The house is situated on the east bank of the River Derwent, in between Derwent and Wye valleys. Carsington Water

The reservoir has been a very popular visitor attraction since being opened by the Queen in 1992. The lively visitor centre provides a wide range of facilities. These include shops selling souvenirs, craft items, books etc.  There is also a cafe and a restaurant. There is wheelchair access provided. (more…)
