This June, Chatsworth House is once again opening its doors to lovers of all things horticultural. The 2019 Chatsworth Flower Show is set to be a fantastic event with plenty to suit all tastes and budgets.

Chat with experts in the Floral Marquee, have a spot of afternoon tea at The White Peak Restaurant, and enjoy the numerous floral displays. If you want to splash out, then you can treat yourself to some of the fine goods for sale at the exhibitor stands. Products range from glasswork to clothing, to photography and so much more.

After you’ve been swept off your feet, you can even enjoy a free tea tasting in the Tea Conservatory. This is provided by the event’s sponsor, Wedgewood. The intricate flavours are inspired by Asian spices, so they’re sure to be a delight for the senses. The Tea Conservatory also gives you a fantastic view of the Show Gardens, which you explore at your leisure whilst you stroll around the beautiful grounds of the Chatsworth Estate.

Dogs Unleashed is a fun-filled day out for dogs and owners alike. This year, the event will take place at the Bakewell Showground on June 22nd and June 23rd, from 10am to 5pm both days.

You can look forward to a stand from the Northern Inuit Society, where you will have the opportunity to see and learn more about this stunning breed. Dogs can partake in competitions, such as agility, racing and flyball, and there will also be a Fun Dog Show where a few lucky pups can win prices across various categories.

Head towards the breed stands to see some unique pedigrees. You can also benefit from the expert advice of the various charities, groomers, vets and breeders at the event. And after you’ve had your fill of fun and adventure, try some of the delicious food and drink on offer at the stalls. Oh, and did we mention there will also be a kids’ adventure section?! With a bouncy castle, donkey rides and face painting, kids will have a ball. There’s truly something for everyone at Dogs Unleashed.

200 Years of Farm to Plate, June 30th

Events in the peak district june 2019

To celebrate 200 years of the Bakewell Agricultural & Horticultural Society, there will be a one-off event at the Bakewell Showground in place of the regular Bakewell Show. The show will have the theme ‘Farm to Plate’, highlighting the journey that food takes to get onto our plates.

At the show, there will be livestock to see and workshops to take part in. These will show what goes into making everyday products such as cheese, honey and herbs. Horse-drawn harvesting demonstrations will also take place to show spectators exactly how crops would have been processed in the olden days.

For little ones, there are many fun games and activities to look forward to, like welly wanging and hay bale carting. And for the motor enthusiasts, there will even be a display of vintage tractors and farm machinery. This is a very special event, indeed!
